In this highly accessible session, we learned about the process of idea creation from investigation, and discovery to MVP development. 10X is housed within the General Service Administration’s (GSA) Technology Transformation Services (TTS) program. Since 2015, the 10X program has applied the private sector start-up investment model to government-funded technology initiatives that solve big problems for the public. 10X has developed an open crowdsourcing platform for big ideas with the help of technology and nurtured investment to deliver scalable innovations. This was an interactive session.
Our guest presenters were Will Cahoe, Communications and Outreach Lead, 10x and Matt Dobson, Product Manager, 10x.

10X Presenters
Will Cahoe – Communications and Outreach Lead
Will Cahoe (with an ‘h’, but he still gets mail addressed to Will Canoe) is the Communications and Outreach lead for 10x. He’s been with 10x for nearly 5 years and previously served in a project coordination role. Will likes creative writing and passionately believes that government web content needs some personality, which he tries to make happen on the 10x website. An Oregonian, he served in the Peace Corps in Mongolia and lived in a yurt. After work hours, you can find him looking for his phone that he just had two minutes ago and stressing out about the damage his new cat is inflicting upon his beloved furniture.
Matt Dobson – Product Manager
Matt Dobson is a designer turned product manager located in Louisville, Kentucky. Matt is proud to be part of the team at 10x, a federal government technology accelerator that turns good-for-government ideas into good-for-people solutions. Prior to joining the team at 10x Matt was part of the Public Benefits Portfolio at 18F. Before his time working in government, he was a product design leader at Humana's Digital Experience Center. And…in an increasingly distant past he published a magazine and produced a late-night variety show at a Tony Award winning theatre. In his spare time, Matt is a local leader of Louisville’s chapters of the Interaction Design Association (IxDA) and Design Futures Initiative.
