What is "How Might We"?

“How Might We…?” questions are a way of framing a design challenge in a way that encourages possibilities, shows the current solution is unknown, and promotes others to work together in develop potential solutions.

How do we do this?

  1. Set up a meeting with your team to review the project brief.
  2. Start a sentence with How might we __________ (and fill in the blank )                 to help to properly frame our targeted solution, but ensure it’s not too specific,  providing room for a variety of solutions.
    1. How might wecreate a wearable wallet for a cashless society?
    2. How might we provide easy access to one’s most frequently used credit card?
    3. How might we create a wallet that can be on a person when swimming?
  3. Decide as a team which of the How Might we questions to align your team on a path to complete your goals in the project brief.
