ISG is working on HCQIS Data & Analytics Modernization tasks which include a centralized data repository (CDR) in the HCQIS Cloud and an implementation of the new SAS Viya analytics tool for CCSQ users. The CDR will offer convenient, secure, and more timely access to CCSQ Quality data, as well as access to Claims data sourced from CMS systems of record. SAS Viya functionality will include data wrangling, data visualization, basic statistics, and advanced modeling capabilities.

Goals include: Improving Data & Analytic experiences for QIO 12th SOW and other CCSQ users; Modernizing current analytic platforms and data repositories; Improving data timeliness; Reducing data duplication; Simplifying/automating data access request process; Maturing data governance; Increasing data quality and security; and Increasing collaboration and data sharing for internal/external stakeholders.

Visit the main HCQIS Data & Analytics Modernization page for additional details.

Who Will Have Access to Quality Analytics?

The QIO contracts are the first users who will have access to the QualityNet Analytics, but the expectation is all SAS users will eventually have access. Data needs to be moved into CDR before access will be granted to all.

QUICK START GUIDE

This briefly and succinctly describes the essential steps to getting started with Quality Analytics

Step 1: Get HARP ID. For instructions on the process, refer to the HARP page.

Step 2: Once the HARP account has been created, log into HARP and request SAS Viya via a HARP User Role. For instructions on this process, visit the HARP page

Step 3: The organization's Security Official approves the user role request.

Step 4: User can access applicable platforms and tools, such as SAS

A "Report Viewer" is someone who has the capability to view reports and dashboard created in SAS Visual Analytics/Visual Statistics.  This group of users cannot run any SAS code, create or edit reports in SAS Visual Analytics/Visual Statistics, or conduct any text analytics.  This group is for managers/directors/executives who may need to view reports that an analyst has created.  And when I say "reports that an analyst has created," I am referring specifically to reports created in SAS Visual Analytics.  If an analyst creates a report using SAS code and outputs a file of some sort (like Excel or PDF), the "Report Viewer" group does not impact the capability of viewing that output .xlsx or .pdf file.

An "Analyst" is someone who has the ability to write and run SAS code to process and analyze data using SAS Studio, create and edit reports in SAS Visual Analytics, run text analytics using SAS Visual Text Analytics, load data into CAS using the various SAS Viya applications.

Access

You will need a HARP account for authentication and roles. More information on onboarding is available on the HCQIS Data & Analytics Modernization Onboarding & Training page.
