DESIGNING FOR THE FUTURE WE WANT

World Usability Day is worldwide day of events around the world that brings together communities of professional, industrial, educational, citizen and governmental groups for our common objective: to ensure that technology helps people live to their full potential and helps create a better world for all citizens everywhere.

ISG will celebrate World Usability Day on November 14, 2019 with an open house style format where you can pop in for specific parts of the event, or stay for the entire time. Our event will be an opportunity  to come together and share knowledge, to showcase some of the work and learning across the lines of business, and to highlight some of the human-centered design work that takes place throughout the agency.

Speakers include:

  • Maia Lang, Senior Business Consultant within the Office of the Chief Technology Officer at HHS,and Margeaux Akazawa, leader of internal innovation programs within the Office of the Chief Technology Officer at HHS, will discuss untangling wicked problems with HCD.
  • Kayenda Johnson, HCD specialist from CMS, will present a user experience case study.
  • Eric Smallwood, HQR UX lead, will facilitate a panel of design professionals to discuss future thinking (innovating innovation) and concept models for anticipating future needs of users.
  • Leslie Ropp, QPP UX team member, will present a case study about human centered design and healthcare quality.
