Application Performance Monitoring (APM) is a Software as a Service (SaaS) offering to monitor resources such as infrastructure, applications, and Amazon Web Service (AWS) endpoints for applications in the QualityNet cloud. New Relic is fully integrated with the QualityNet single sign on solution and is replacing SteelCentral APM for applications in the QualityNet Cloud.

With real-time insights into application performance, infrastructure, and customer experience, New Relic enables proactive issue resolution and data-driven decision-making in support of the CCSQ QualityNet mission.

  1. Log in to 

Step 1: If you do not have a HARP account or an EIDM or EUA account, register for a HARP ID. For instructions on the HARP registration process, refer to the HARP page.

Step 2: Once the HARP account has been created, log into HARP and request a QualityNet CloudBees Jenkins entitlement via a HARP User Role. 

  • Select User Roles from the top of the page and select Request a Role.
  • On the Select a Program Page, select QualityNet-CloudBees Jenkins.
  • On the Select an Organization page, select the Jenkins Master you are requesting access to.
  • On the Select Roles page, select QualityNet-CloudBees Jenkins user role (choose one)
    • Jenkins_Admin
    • Jenkins_Browse
    • Jenkins_Deployer (not available in all Masters)
    • Jenkins_Developer
    • Jenkins_SO
  • Select the Submit button
  • Enter your reason for requesting the selected role in the Request Reason text field.
  • Select the Submit button

Step 3:  Users requesting the Jenkins_Admin or Jenkins_Developer role must also request the Jenkins_Browse role, repeat Step 2 and request the Jenkins_Browse role.  See NOTE above.

  2. Navigate to the Request a Role in HARP page.

  3. On the Select a Program step, select QualityNet-New Relic and click Next.

  4. On the Select an Organization step, select your organization and click Next.

    1. If your organization is not listed, please refer to the Onboard an Organization section of this page or contact us using the #help-devsecops Slack channel.

  5. On the Select Roles page, choose NEW RELIC-USER and click Submit.

  6. Fill out the Request Reason and click Submit again.

Once your organization's security official has approved the request, the New Relic team will provision your user record in New Relic. When that is complete, you should receive a communication from the New Relic team that your access is ready. You can then proceed to the Access New Relic section of this page.

QUICK START GUIDE

The high-level steps for a contractor to onboard to New Relic include:

  • HARP ID: All New Relic users must have a valid HARP ID or EIDM ID and need to request for a HARP role. For instructions requesting a HARP ID, refer to the HARP page.
  • Shared Services Project Managers (SSPMs) will initiate a kick-off meeting for New Relic onboarding.
  • Note

    Before proceeding, ensure you have requested, and been granted, a New Relic role in HARP. Please refer to the Request Access section of this page for detailed instructions.

    You can access New Relic using the application tile on your Okta - My Apps home page.

    Alternatively, you can log in directly from the New Relic web application:

    1. Navigate to https://one.newrelic.com.
    2. Enter the primary email associated with your HARP account and click Enter.
    3. Once redirected to the CMS IDM auth portal, use your HARP, EIDM, or EUA credentials to log in.

    New Relic is available to all ADOs who support a CMS application.

    Each organization will be able to use all features within New Relic which  include monitoring, troubleshooting, setting up, and receiving alerts as well as using and creating dashboards.  Your Your organization may decide to use a subset of these features.

    Yes.   Your New Relic account will be pre-configured to send New Relic data to Splunk.

    No. The current alert template contains sensitive data that cannot be sent to corporate email. Until the template is updated, accounts will be audited for adherence. The approved methods for receiving notifications are:

    • Slack (It is recommended to use a dedicated Slack team channel for alert notifications)
    • ServiceNow

    • Ensure data is sent to an approved source (Slack, Jira, Splunk).
    • Ensure no PHI/PII data is sent to sources other than the approved one.
    • Ensure no sensitive data is sent to corporate email.
    • Ensure no incident alerts are sent to any public page or channel and limit the information to only the intended audience;
    • Ensure no sensitive data is sent to another tool in a manner that violates the terms of that tool.
