Peritonitis Wireframes
Lisa/EDIs
We're in the requirements phase; more will be needed
We've had some initial calls with CDC
HCD reviewed the current wireframes
Feedback
Kathleen
"Was there an infection in the past 7 days" question: what past 7 days are we measuring? Probably 7 days from when the peritonitis event was reported but Lisa will get clarification from CDC
Need an infection onset date
Is this going in the clinical module? - Data will be recorded under the Patient
Provide option to select Unknown or N/A for each question
Invasive abdominal incident: there should be a None option
Is it possible for there to be a peritonitis event but no invasive abdominal incident? Lisa will research this.
Vlad
There are different screens for each question; it should be an Infections screen for all types of infections
2 major concerns: Make a generic Infection module and don't make anything mandatory
EDIs don't collect all of this information and will probably not ask for it (albumin, protein, red blood cells, invasive abdominal incidents)
CMS will not receive good data from the current design
Reporting is transactional; All infections that occur during a month are reported
Lisa:
The questions in the wireframes are there to indicate when an infection is not hygiene induced
Peritonitis work is a collaborative effort with CDC, so we'll discuss these concerns with CDC and then determine when we can have updated wireframes
Is reporting at the month end better? All infections that occurred during the month would be reported
CMS will provide clarity on reporting requirements
