EQRS Feature Updates/DiscussionYvette/Lizzie

Daprodustat Medication (Jump to recording: 00:02:05 ~ 00:21:29)

  • EDI feedback on the recording of the Daprodustat medication for anemia management
  • ADO would like to add a couple of the oral medications to treat anemia and CKD patients
    • Dapradustat
    • Vadadustat
  • Question:
    • Do you want to know if a patient has an active prescription for the new medication? OR
    • Do you want to know if the medication was actually administered?
      • Porsche will have to take back and get an answer for this
  • Geraldine asked/suggested if this could be included in the Medication Reconciliation
    • once you prescribe it and say what medication it is,
    • under medication reconciliation you determine whether the patient is taking it or not
  • Stephanie Clark - if talking ESAs, they are all injectables
    • The new ones are oral and taken daily
  • Nathan - does not recommend building unique things for every single medication
    • more medications will come in the future
    • suggestion is to create a structure that is repeatable
    • Will only need to add the different ID number, different date, dosage number and dosage type
    • Same one XML structure
  • Question from Yvette
    • Can a patient take both the oral med and an ESA as well?
      • Per Stephanie - a patient would not be taking an oral anemia medications as well as an injectable ESA.  It would be one or the other
  • ESA is the only medication being EQRS tracks
  • Currently QIP uses this ESA data; not sure what part of the data they use so need to be careful if make any changes to the ESA section
    • Alissa (Arbor) clarified QIP does not currently use the ESA data
  • ESA is not a medicine, it is a type of medicine
  • It's Erythropoietin Stimulating agent is what it's for
  • ESA is a grouping of medications that are for anemia
  • Porsche will take this feedback to CMS to discuss internally on what changes/updates can be made to the ESA section

Removal of individual facility roles in favor of corporate roles (Jump to recording: 00:21:57 ~ 00:46:41)

  • Questions came up on how to best use the corporate role
  • The ADO team put together a list of users that currently have corporate roles and gathered up the facility roles
  • The corporate role has been improved and EQRS ADO is at the point where they can go back and offer the opportunity to clean up those individual facility roles for folks that have a corporate role
  • Logging in as a corporate role and working from a single role make it much easier to work
  • The list was sent out so users can review the list and to let the ADO know if there may be some facility roles they do not want eliminated or cleaned up
  • It is encouraged for users to use the new corporate role
  • More improvements will be made to the corporate role
  • The ADO will not move forward right now in removing the roles just yet.  They want to make sure the patient search performance issue is fixed
  • The ADO does want everyone to know the new corporate role does have a lot of capability and encourages the user to use it
  • The difference between the corporate viewer role and the corporate POC role?
    • The corporate POC role is like the editor role; you can make edits on any patient; you can admit patients, you can create forms, you can manage accretions; you can do basically all that a facility role can do
    • The corporate viewer role can only view, you can view everything under your corporation, but you can't make edits or changes
  • A downside of the corporate role is you don't have a dashboard; the ADO team is working on creating a dashboard type homepage and a missing forms report
  • Bonny Glidewell has a corporate POC role but does not see the tabs at the top right (Facilities, Patients and Reports)
    • She will create a helpdesk ticket and have it assigned to Nancy Carlson
  • Kathleen Prewitt confirmed it is ok for the ADO to clean up the roles for FMC
  • The ADO will not remove any roles until they get confirmation from the user
  • The ADO will send out a communication to let people know when the cleanup of roles will take place
  • The patient search performance issue needs to be fixed first before the role cleanup will happen
  • The email with the lists was sent out by Melissa Fieldhouse
  • Geraldine - as facilities get added or facilities get transferred from one corporation to another and the batch submitting field gets changed, will those then automatically just show up in your corporate account?
    • Yes
  • Bonny - is the facility administration role going to be discontinued? This was mentioned on the I Pro website
    • Per Yvette it is not happening yet
    • Per Michael Kennedy - before EQRS, facility administrator was a copy of facility viewer
  • Kelsey (USRC) - For the dashboard feature for the corporate role, is there a way to build in facility selection within that so the user can look and see what facility users are seeing on their dashboard feature?
    • Per Lizzie, yes that is being considered

Scheduled scaling in the lower environments (Jump to recording: 00:46:48 ~ 00:49:32)

  • Prod Preview would be shut down for a period of time each night and on weekends.
  • EDI feedback and concerns
    • The EQRS DevOps team is looking at basically a cost saving measure
    • Would like to get feedback on the impact of shutting down some of the lower environments of EQRS during off hours that would be overnight or on weekends
    • This idea is not set in stone; just want to get feedback from the EDIs
    • When do the EDIs use Prod Preview? overnight or on weekend?
      • Laura Dabrowski from Innovative Renal Care will use the environment periodically on Sunday's, any time after they do their own internal maintenance to make sure her test site still submits to prod preview; this happens about once a month
      • Nathan - DaVita occasionally uses prod preview on the weekends for testing
    • Sounds like need to leave prod preview up during the day 7 days a week

Testing of the race codes in prod preview - Status?

  • Testing is scheduled to end this Friday, 7/12
  • The changes for the race codes will be released to production either Sunday evening or Monday morning
  • Per Michael - he has updated all the data in pre prod, and it has been tested; all testing scenarios have passed
  • Once the deployment is done, Michael can start the scripts to update prod data; this update should be transparent to the EDIs
  • Once the change goes to production, early next week EQRS ADO will flip the 2023 form 2728 flag in prod preview so the EDIs can test the base race changes for the 2023 version of form 2728
  • A communication will be sent with the documentation and the details
  • The new race codes will be in production and there will be a code on the backend that can still accept the old race codes

DaVita - Nathan asked if anyone knew about the BCDA data? Has to do with the CKCC program

        • There is a data set called BCDA that used to be populated but not it is not
        • Looking to see if anyone had any contacts at CMS that would be able to help
