EQRS Feature Updates/DiscussionPorsche

2728 timeline extension status update

  • The extension date is still being discussed with leadership
  • The question is not whether you will get an extension, it is how long the length of the extension
  • Leadership should be providing a response by Monday, 4/22
  • The new date will be released to the EDIs early next week; an email will be sent out
  • There are a few options being considered.  Porsche is unable to share with the group at this time
  • The dates that were sent in from the template that Porsche requested the EDIs to complete were taken into consideration

How will historic Asian race be handled in EQRS?

  • For example, ill all patients already present with the race “Asian” be mapped to “other Asian”?
    • Michael -
      • Originally EQRS won't really know how to classify someone if we've never had some of the sub races before
      • In reviewing it, Asian will not just be put to "other Asian".  EQRS will be taking into consideration the country of origin
      • Michael will be working on the logic today and will review with the ADO team
      • When EQRS can logically ascertain including the country of origin, the race will be moved/updated to a specific race
      • If there's no country of origin or anyway to ascertain it, "other Asian" will be used
      • Michael will document the logic and send to the EDIs
      • Once the patients are changed, Michael will get a list of the UPIs, the old ones and new ones
  • Leah - On the attributes page with a race and ethnicity.  Will we be able to edit those fields or are they locked down once the 2728 is submitted?
    • Yes, they were locked at one point but it was requested by the EDIs to unlock those field so they are editable for updates
    • The race data can be updated on the patient screen at any point in time, once the form 2728 is submitted, the form will not be updated with the changes made that are made to the patient screen

  • Sarah - Will the Race and Ethnicity changes be included in the May 6 implementation?
    • No, at this time there is no go live date.  It will depend on the completion of testing

FMC 

  • Kathleen - When will we receive the consolidated primary cause list and the new tribe list?
    • Per Michael, they should get them early next week
    • Michael will send it out to the EDIs

DCI

  • Vlad - when will the race update be implemented in EQRS?
    • A date had not yet been determined for the implementation of this logic
    • For now, the EDIs should just submit "Asian"; submit as normal
    • EDIs will be notified in advanced so the system won't reject or get errors

RHA 

  • Howard - When the new change for the race code goes in, will EQRS continue to accept the old information or will there be any overlap in the processing?  Will everything start erroring immediately?
    • There should not be an overlap where it accepts 2
    • All of the codes are not changing
    • Some of the old codes will not be removed
    • EQRS will be adding those new ones for the sub races, etc
    • Should not get an error as long as the new race codes are in the XML tag
    • But if you are sending something back on a patient it may change that patient's race back to something, etc

  • If any Production issues are encountered, please submit a Helpdesk ticket.  This will allow the EQRS team to better track the issue and progress.
  • CMS will refresh data in the EQRS Prod Preview environment on the first Sunday of every month. The planned schedule is below.
