Infection updates and ESA updates
ESA updates: (Jump to recording 00:04:10 ~ 00:36:44)
Updates will be made to the anemia medication mockups to allow users to enter both an oral and ESA medication for their patients.
Implementation planned for prior to the February 2025 Go-Live
XML will be the same but there is a new oral tag
EDIs are concerned there may be issues with capturing the actual data itself and working through the logic to generate the xml
Concerns these changes will affect the timeline submitter end
Suggested that instead of "Oral" and "ESA", should it be "Oral" and "Intravenous ESA" or "Injectable"
Suggestion to add Oral to ESA Route
EDIs provide feedback on these changes to the Anemia Management Medication section of the UI
The EDIs will have to make changes to their current structure and will include a lot of development
These suggestions from the EDIs will be taken back to HCD team for discussion
ADO will get back to this group in the upcoming scheduled Program Calls
Question from FMC - "Did patient receive medication for anemia?"
What does CMS want the EDIs to do for home patients?
Do you want them to say no, b/c they don't know or does CMS want them to assume they did and fill out the data?
Adrienne will take this back to CMS
Infection updates:(Jump to recording 00:37:02 ~ 00:55:20)
Work is still in progress
"Event Date" field - description is changing to "Date of Event"
"Was the patient hospitalized in the month prior.......?"
currently being pulled from the clinical data
being updated so that it is enterable by users and submitted by the EDIs
"Was PD suspended?" and "Data PD was suspended" fields will be removed
"Did the patient experience an invasive procedure within....?"
updating so it will be a vertical list
this is a cosmetic change
"Was there a catheter site within 14 days prior....?"
changing the description to say "within the reporting month"
If you say "yes", you will be able to select other cultures and select antibiotics then enter the initiation date and completion date
ADO received feedback to un-next the antibiotics and the cultures
waiting to hear back on the decision
"Was there a tunnel infection within 30 days prior to,....?"
verbiage is being updated to "within the reporting month"
same thing that will be done to the catheter site infection will be done to the tunnel infection
"PD Fluid Cell Count" field will be updated to
"Was the white cell count greater than 100 cells..."
You can choose "yes" or "no" and enter the result
From Howard and EDIs - All these changes is introducing a lot of changes to the logic for submissions
This is a concern to the EDIs - ADO/Porsche will take this feedback back to the CDC
The CDC will be invited to the next Program Call on 12/11

Changes to the Anemia Management section and timeline?
What is the production timeline for the new updates?
Another LDO advised us that the new module was just launched in PreProd on Friday November 22nd so we’d like to confirm that there will be ample time for testing.
The anemia medication change will go on Feb 1, 2025.
Within the new module there is not a way to report both Oral and ESA medications. How should we be expected to report the patient’s medication if they receive both within the same clinical month?
We were recently made aware of this request and are working to implement this change prior to go live.
The sample xml that was released on October 21st, 2024, does not fully coincide with the module that’s in PreProd. Should we expect an updated xml to be released to EDI submitters in the near future?
The sample xml that was posted on the repository does match the existing module and demonstrates how to submit oral medications.
What data do you want to submit that is missing from the sample?
Are there business rules surrounding reporting for the new oral meds?

EDSM Unique ID Discussion (Jump to recording 00:55:21 ~ 01:04:42)
In the EDI in person meeting there was a request to add a response file unique record ID
ADO is asking for clarification on the requirement from the EDIs
The unique ID is currently included in the feedback file
When FMC sends multiple patients, they are unable to match up which one actually they are talking about when they say it is rejected or accepted
Revathy is talking about the Admit Discharge Unique ID
Per Janet from NCC, the EDI admission ID is not something that is stored as part of the admission record at this time
