JESSE MICHEL

Human-Centered Design Lead
eSimplicity Inc

Jesse Michel has been leading design efforts in the federal healthcare space since 2022, after co-owning and operating a small digital services firm for 10 years.

During that time, he found his passion for civic technology through his work with Code for America, along with several local grass-roots organizations; supporting their efforts in advocating for policy change through data-driven storytelling. He took an interest in healthcare after serving on the volunteer board of a Federally Qualified Health Center, eventually assuming the role of Vice Chair. There, he developed an appreciation for the ways that policy and design can intersect to create great experiences for beneficiaries who need high-quality, accessible healthcare services most. Through his small-business experience, Jesse brings a delivery-driven perspective to human-centered solutions and applies a pragmatic approach to tackling challenging problems.

Jesse is happiest when he is holding his 6-month-old, being chased by his 4-year-old, or playing with his boxer-mix, Nellie!
