Lisa Stocks, RN, MSN, FNP

Lifesharing, Organ Procurement Organization

Lisa Stocks has been privileged to serve as the Executive Director of the Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) Lifesharing for more than 15 years, capping a 30-year career dedicated to organ recovery and transplantation. Under her leadership, the lives saved through organ donation from Lifesharing have more than doubled, and the OPO is consistently rated in the top five OPOs in the U.S. for organ donation conversion rate.

Currently, Ms. Stocks serves on the Executive Board of the Organ Procurement Transplant Network (OPTN) and on the board of the United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS) as the Secretary. She is immediate past Chair of the UNOS Membership and Professional Standards Committee (MPSC) and currently an MPSC committee member. She has also served as Co-Chair for the OPTN Systems Improvement Transplant Center Committee; Chair, UNOS Information and Technology Committee; and member of both the OPO Committee and Chair of the Membership and Policy Compliance Committee (MPSC). She has been active in the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations and is currently President Elect of AOPO.

Ms. Stocks has significant experience with donation, utilization of change package strategies, and change management. She was actively involved in the development and implementation of change packages locally for the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) Collaborative and saw a dramatic increase in donation locally and nationally. The performance improvement process is part of the daily work in her organization, and leadership in support of improvement teams is an integral part of her day as well as her work with the MPSC and especially the Systems Improvement Committee. Ms. Stocks has a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Arizona and is a Family Nurse Practitioner and recently was awarded the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
