GitHub Issue - Resolved! 

  • Issue Description: SAS Viya users have reported issues accessing data within Hive due to issues with two of the environment’s worker nodes.
  • The team worked with the SAS Vendor to obtain a patch, and applied that patch during the April 22nd maintenance event. After completing additional validation, the team has marked this issue as resolved.

Lagging Issues 

  • Issue Description: SAS Viya users have reported issues accessing data within Hive due to issues with two of the environment’s worker nodes.
  • The team worked with the SAS Vendor to obtain a patch, and applied that patch during the April 22nd maintenance event. After completing additional validation, the team has marked this issue as resolved.

Background Submit Issues

  • Issue Description: Some users are reporting issues with background submitting in SAS Viya. Some are reporting spinning while others are reporting that log files are not showing up or populating after the job completes.
  • The D&A team is currently working with the SAS Vendor to identify and resolve the issue.
  • Workaround: Please submit jobs in the foreground temporarily as this issue is being investigated.

False Long-Running Job Email Notification Issue 

  • Issue Description: Some users may have been receiving long-running SAS job email notifications for SAS jobs that do not exist.
  • A user can disregard this email notification if the PS macro in SAS Viya reveals that they do not have any running PIDs.
  • The D&A team is planning to review the automated long running job notification script to ensure that it does not send out any false alerts to users.

  • All events will begin at 8:00 pm ET and end approximately at 11:00pm ET. A communication will be sent out once maintenance is complete. As a reminder, whenever there is maintenance on the environment, you will need to make sure all of your code and table changes are saved.

Confluence Usability Study - Outcomes and Next Steps

The Data & Analytics Team preformed a Usability Study on our end user site since we want to improve both the content on the site as well as the navigation to the content in order to help our end users with their analytical work.
