QuickSight: How To Create a Dataset Joining Two Existing Data Sources

This 'How to' will explain how to create a new dataset in QuickSight using two data sources.

Step-by-step guide

  1. After creating a dataset from one data source, select the Add data button. Add Data button
  2. Select the relevant table(s) to add to the join by checking or unchecking the box next to the table, then click Select.

  3. Inside the data pane, clicking on the two red buttons of the join will let users specify what field(s) to join between those tables and join types (inner, left, right, or full join).

4. After selecting the joins,  name the dataset, pick SPICE (Super-fast, Parallel, In-memory Calculation Engine), then click Save

5. The saved dataset is now available for use in an Analyses.
